SOMETIMES 2: Non-stop

Posted: September 1, 2011 in events, fun, movie, people, president, sometimes-2

While somebody is indulging in autumn nostalgia and bidding farewell  to something —
either to childhood, or summer, or Kazantip — we keep moving on knowing for sure how and where.
Knowing beyond any doubt that the best is yet to come.

Our train goes straight to the point of destination.
Be careful, the doors are closing. The next stop is Z’20.)

SOMETIMES 2: Let there be light

Posted: August 6, 2011 in djs, events, movie, people

A few hours from now, what everybody thinks everything is up to and what represents all this stuff – Grandioso A-LOT-OF-MUSIC-AND-LIGHT will happen. But in fact, we can tell it in secret, everything is up to quite another matter – to not too much grandioso, but freakingly light moments that indeed represent all this Grandiosity. Moments like this…

Kazantip APP

Posted: August 6, 2011 in about, business, events, media

Kazantip is not what you think, but sometimes it is a little application to your life that makes it brighter and merrier.
We decided to illustrate this feature with the release of small, but very useful KAZANTIP APP for iPhone.
The following sections are already available:  Lineup / News / Calendar / Map / Twitter / Constitution / Summit /
Live On Mars / Z Games / FAQ. The app automatically detects the language and switches to Russian or English
depending on your phone’s settings. The versions for iPad and Android are also in the work.
This is the first, rather simple, but not the last version of the app – we’re going to develop the following one on August 13,
right during the Second Summit on Mars, where the developers will demonstrate the interesting examples
of functional decisions and will be happy to listen the ideas and wishes of the great Kazantipian IPhone users.

& Ministry of Propaganda
present II Summit on Mars
11th-14th August 2011

“When you sick of running in circles you can start moving UP.”

“Weighty, but democratic – in only pants , but with a tie.”

Nikita Marshunok,
President of the Kazantip Republic

The Second Kazantipian Summit on Mars is dedicated to going beyond the usual limits into the open space of experiments,
which, generally, is equal to the exploration of other planets. This serious in nature and not serious in format high-level meeting
will be attended by the leaders of the music business, trendsetters in communication and Internet technology,
and reps of the most ambitious and exciting events of the planet.  We deliberately don’t limit the Martian Summit to any genre –
what limitations, indeed, could be in open deep space? )

We invite all participants and guests of the Summit to join the 4-days spacewalk from the narrow professional sphere
to the shared space of ideas with the ability to look at everything a bit form the side and top, from where, as you know,
“everything you’ve done scales down”. However, it gives excellent prospects…

decides the communication issue in its own special way.  The first 200 parties of the Summit will get POKEN-chips
that will allow to get to know each other, share personal data and keep in touch with all social networks
just by one chip-handshake.

Sometimes 2: BIRTH

Posted: August 1, 2011 in architecture, djs, events, movie, sometimes-2

“Sometimes drawings remain drawings, sometimes, there is something they give birth to…” As for us,  there is nothing more beautiful than embodied dreams and realised ideas.

Meet the new and gorgeous stage – Dark Side. It was named after the unique tent — snowy on the outside and black on the inside to save the coolness and delay the coming of the morning.

To what recently was only words & schemes and has now taken shape, this video is DEDICATED.

Prodigal of innovations and projects, the Ministry of Musical Culture of the Kazantip Republic presents AWE! – the Agency of the Worldwide Entertainment designed to play a key role in achieving world domination through peaceful means. AWE! is nothing, but a human intelligence network that we spread out  on a geographical basis, and it as good as covers all strategically important states. This is where we enter the realm of not only musical culture, but also musical geo-politics, recruiting and inviting agents… well, we mean, artists from any kind of near and far aboard countries – the key point – within our interests. Firstly, in August 2011a series of activities will be held under the label of AWE! within the Kazantip Republic, which is naturally the epicenter. Then the wave will sweep across all the participating countries, covering the entire globe in the long run. Yes, here we have these global plans – to hit and cover the whole world with a wave of awesomness. Because AWE! – is exactly what everyone should experience at collision with such an incomprehensible, but exciting phenomenon, as the Kazantip Republic. :]

Breathe easy all latecomers to the Visa Online Registration of this year.
All will be pardoned and receive their visas offline, 2 times more expensive though. Joke. We were going to do so, but changed our minds. Maybe, we will, next year.) All non-registered fans of queues will receive their visas at the regular price on “last come last served” kind of large, long, fat, noisy queue.

All Visa Online registrants will be able to:
• get to the Visa Department queue-lessly, provided that they have a printout of their registration details and identity document, specified at registration.
• buy a Visa much cheaper
• call the hotline anytime 24/7 if any problems.

That’s just yet another injustice to be expected in our former Democratic Republic:)

As you know, the Kazantip republic has always been extremely open to everything new, so it regularly grants visas to thousands of new tourists, refreshes the corporate identity and announces the new national anthem. According to the Constitution, any never previously released piece of music  from any genre can become an anthem, provided, however, that it is able to give the PreZident and Cabinet goose bumps.

This year we have even declared a global contest, in the hope that among several thousands of bidders, we could find the one, ingenious, goose bumps giving melody we might live the coming year to. However, all we found, after monitoring of 3 500 tracks were unfounded ambitions, stereotypes, and only a few truly beautiful and talented compositions. But alas, unanimous goose bumps were never found.
Well, that’s anything but simple hard to warm up coldblooded Government.

While arguing what should be done, we were accused of corruption, threatened, offered bribes, continuously sent out of competition tracks and so on. In the end, all we came up with was to make a government garage band and to write something of an anthem by ourselves, with the aim that nobody can blame us for just criticizing, promoting a paid-for candidate or not knowing what we want. To write something of an anthem took us about 3 days, to shoot a music video – another 4. Not that we put on too much side – quite the contrary, looking at the work of our hands on the seventh day, we sincerely think: “Not that bad, what..?” ;]

– You know,
any fool can fence a piece of beach about
but not everyone can manage their own republic out of it –
perhaps, rather a summer house or snack bar with a pretty dance square.
to make others believe in what doesn’t exist
you need to find very right words, not just something
blah blah blah blah

Or another thing,
everybody can get instruments in the garage, make their garage band
and turn to a one-hit wonder, bur dare try to make up
a normal national anthem
to give people goose bumps
to sing it in chorus
well and with some smart, kind, sufficiently pathetic words,
not just babbling blah blah blah blah

In the matter of fact, it’s rather hard to tell
something new, wise and relatively foolproof, much less to sing…
but if the stars take the right positions,
if you’ve got a strong national idea,
people that treat their selves as a great nation,
well, and kinda a lot of music and light
at large it is not that difficult
to make everybody go dancing
and screaming out,
even if in a cheesy way,
but all-together now…
blah blah blah blah

This short video is dedicated to one of the most elegant and significant architectural objects of the Kazantip Republic, to the Independency Monument that was erected exactly 2 years ago, in July, 10th . It’s a structure of crossed lines, suspended in the air, without, in fact, intersecting one another. What is the symbolism and meaning of this structure – you’ll learn from our film.

Independency, obviously, makes the head go round,
but you gotta see it’s just an illusion of independency.
It’s impossible not being connected –
In the emptiness, there’s only space for the emptiness.
As to beauty, it comes through connection
Of things, of people, of elements.
Even though invisible
Connections are indispensable

LINEUP Z’19

Posted: July 7, 2011 in djs, events

We once again remind everyone who is concerned with the lineup what the foundation of our national policy is:

Kazantip is not just some festival that has nothing to attract public attention, except headliners’ names :]
(They’re always limited, whether you push the new ones or not ;) Kazantip is a pretty curious non-existent republic in itself, independent of all the world’s laws, including the big show-biz’s laws. Though the music and dance are really treated with honour here, they are not the only kind of art. The thing is that our policy of achieving  the world supremacy through peaceful means is supposed to gather within the Republic the brightest and the most interesting people, including not only the world’s famous artists like Pendulum, John B, Marc Romboy, M.A.N.D.Y., Cassy, Ricardo Villalobos, James Zabiela, Guy Gerber, John Digveed, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Sander Van Doorn, John Fleming and etc., but also the other 350 names in this season.  However, it doesn’t mean that we’re going to take advantage of them in order to move up our already high status ;]

So, no more asking “where, when and what will be the lineup?”;)

By the way, here it is >>>

We could nohow come up with the name for this video – well, couldn’t we really call it “The Movement” after all, right? So we decided to take what was ready at hand. I.e. “Genre Crisis”. Just so you know, it’s only a concept of this kind, but even if we were really threatened by genre crisis, we would contrive a way of making a creative idea out of it however.

– sometimes you surely move forward,
sometimes retreat like a coward,
sometime go round in circles
thinking that all is normal
the thing is to move even no matter where,
not to stand still.

SOMETIMES 2: Bed Scenes

Posted: June 20, 2011 in movie, sometimes-2

During the making of this movie we had a feeling like we all died and found ourselves in Eden. Something didn’t match though: being such sinners as we are, we rather should be sent to Hell, shouldn’t we? ;]  But it didn’t look like Hell at all, unless a billion of starving mosquitos…

In general, we still don’t know what it was — maybe just an another dream..? However, everyone of us, when watching this documented dream,  is having goose bumps… For real. And if you are not… you are, at least a zombie. :]

– I’d be back in my childhood awhile,
only to do what I didn’t value
dreaming to be a grown man
Why are we really so much in a hurry
to grow up from our panties into cynical liars?

PS: As for the non-romantic title, well, it was our cynical move just for promo ;]

The Kazantip Republic launches registration for travel agencies from all countries and regions who are ager to legitimize our relationship. Registration, in fact, is your presence in the internal tourism market, your ability to communicate directly with your potential customers and receive honest public feedback. In the case of your impeccable reputation, we will gladly grant you the status of the government recommended agency and partner. All we demand in exchange for patronage, informational assistance and direct access to the great nation is enforcement of simple and universal rules: you play fair, you are open to criticism and willing to change and evolve in accordance with the branding standards of the Republic. We provide you with all the necessary information.

If you have something to hide, are afraid of open competition and prefer to keep in the background, be aware that this does not prevent us to register you in absentia and to receive feedback about your work from the great nation – so, perhaps, it would be better if you do it yourself ;]

and giving a shit to corrosion,
running to breaking waves

President’s speech on IMS

Posted: May 30, 2011 in about

Between 24th-29th May, Ibiza hosted the 4th International Music Summit where the Republic was taking part as a speaker. KAZANTIP IS NOT WHAT YOU THINK was the subject of our talk, because, first off, we meant to explain plainly that “Kazantip is not a festival”. During the performance, the reps of the Republic’s honor, minister of music culture, Yura Marichev, and of propaganda, Adrew Goshva showed the music elite a popular-science film on the subject that we had prepared especially for the Summit and other works of the national movie studio. With their performance, they did not just let the world public know “what it is dealing with” – not just some festival, but a great power,  whose might (and the force of imagination) is incontestable; they taught it a little lesson – how and where to dance to be successful.

President Nikita Marshunok, who had been announced among the speakers, was not able to attend the Summit in person, which didn’t hurt him to hit it big with two-minutes video-address.

Having explained all our non-festivalness, we never gave the Summit audience an unambiguous answer to “Whatever is Kazantip?”; we just afforded everyone the opportunity to work out this deeply personal issue on their own. And yet, the result of our perfomance was really striking.

The audience rose in prolonged applause. During the questions-answers process, the leaders of public opinion were grabbing the mic just to say that “after THIS, all other performances and projects look and sound SILLY.” For yet more two hours, the ministers were answering the question “how to play at Kazantip?!” As a result, we opened up important partnerships with different countries; and the world public concurred that “there are only three unique and noteworthy projects on the planet: Burning Man, Glastonbury and Kazantip.” By the way, the Burning Man reps will pay an official visit to the Republic this year.

It is safe to say that we did not just win Ibiza; we came much closer to world supremacy. Which, as you remember,  we’re going to achieve through peaceful means, gathering all the brightest, smartest and most talented people of the planet.   We plan to accomplish that to the 20th anniversary of the Republic )

We’d like to inform those who don’t follow world music culture events and are out of the picture:  one of the main events, the International Music Summit, is taking place in Ibiza between 24th-29th May. And it’s not just taking place, along with the coolest parties from Carl Cox to David Lynch, it will feature performances from the Kazantip Republic’s speakers: the minister of music culture, Yury Marychev,  the minister of propaganda, Andriy Hoshva and The President of the Republic Nikita Marshunok. And know what? They will be the first speakers from the CIS countries in the history of  IMS.  As always, President of the Republic has found a way to distinguish himself, so his report is going to be presented on 27th May in a very exceptional form that we’ll tell you (and show) about later on.

Also, especially for the Summit, Nikola Frantsevich Movie Studio prepared a film-report “KAZANTIP IS NOT WHAT YOU THINK”. The exclusive showing of this film will be held simultaneously with the performance of our speakers on 27th May, here  >>>>
